The New French Revolution

For 3 weeks now, protesters have converged on Wall Street under the banner of Occupy Wall Street.  The protests began with a handful of hippies, college students and anarchists who demonstrated, chanted and marched near (the NYPD had blocked off Wall Street itself) Americas financial center.  There were no clear demands, no leaders and no definition to the movement but there were some themes.

1. The banks are to blame - Nevermind that it's the politicians, from both party establishments who give the "banksters" the power and access.  Also, they're not limiting their angst to those who are responsible for the crisies we face.   Their calls are to bring down ALL of the banks.  And not just bring down the institutions but "behead the bankers" too.

2. Capitalism is the problem - They're only partly right.  Pure Capitalism could NOT have caused these problems, only crony Capitalism can.  That's the corrupt, pay to play that we have seen throughout the years from the establishment progressives in both parties.  Ask them what they'd replace Capitalism with and they'll say that they don't know BUT press them some and you will find them talking about things like " a more equitable system", "maximum salaries", "wealth redistribution" and "a system based on empathy".

3. If we don't go willingly, force us - While the organizers and spokespeople call for "non-violence" at the protest, the means to their fluid ends include the use of force.  This force includes but is not limited to: beheading bankers who do not cooperate, forcing the wealthy to give "their excess" to the middle class and "taking down Capitalism".

Now, some of what these protesters are saying makes sense.  They say it's time to "end the Fed" and return to sound money backed by gold and you know what, they are right but then they jump to "and we should bring down Capitalism too!" and we have to stop and say...No...don't bring it down, FIX IT! You see, this is the difference between the Wall Street protesters and the TEA Party.

The TEA Party began in 2009 with a call to return to the principles of American liberty through political and ethical reform.  THIS is why it mirrored the American Revolution.  The war against England came only as a last result and only after England had repeatedly murdered American colonists.  Heck, some of our founders would have had us remain the King's subjects if only he'd listen to our grievances and act to rectify them.   The TEA Party likewise didn't seek to destroy the American system of government or replace it.  It sought to rebuild it and strengthen it by improving ethics, getting the fiscal house in order and returning the power of the government to the people where it belongs.

By contrast, the Occupy Wall Street protesters are seeking to tear down the current system, break the new bourgeoisie (as defined by the Marxists, the 19th century French would have combined the bourgeoisie (capitalists) and the aristocracy to create what we consider to be the "new bourgeoisie" today) and implement a centrally planned economic and governmental system.  This is EXACTLY why it mirrors the French Revolution.  The French saw what happened in America and the lower class, led by radicals, socialists and budding communists led a revolt that they intended to be based on the American Revolution.  Americans like Thomas Paine and to a lesser extent Thomas Jefferson supported the early stages of the French Revolution because the fires of liberty burned so strong in them.  The problem is that there was a difference, the American Revolution came about after an enlightenment and a religious awakening while the French Revolution was a result of chaotic anarchy. So while the French Revolution may have had the same goal of liberty as the American Revolution, the means were different and the devil is in the details.  Even the details of the Occupy Wall Street protests mirror the French Revolution:

1.  Accusations tossed about with little or no proof or as out right lies - Like the protestor who claimed Chase Bank was "taking" his parents home when in fact they are choosing to sell it and move on their own.
2. Storming or "Occupying" cities and buildings to force the system to shut down until their demands are met.
3. Maximum earnings limits with the rest being redistributed to the populace by central planning of the government.
4. Violence if their demands are not met - including the specific act of "beheading" which was a staple of the French Revolution and has been touted by supporters of the Occupy Wall Street protests.

So you have to ask yourself this question, do you believe in tearing down the system with no clear replacement but presumably one based on the Marxist/Communist routes of the protesters?  Do you agree with storming and occupying buildings and shutting down the system a la Wisconsin and Wall Street?  Do you agree with capping an individuals earnings and beheading them if they choose not to participate?  If your answer is yes, join the Marxists on Wall St.  If your answer is no, REFUSE to stand with them.  The enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend.

And you wonder why Marxists and Communists, resposnsible for the deaths of HUNDREDS of million of people, get through to our young people?  Apparently it's because they're THIS JUVENILE....It aggravates me to see this happen...what a bunch of losers.

Who have we become?

In Nebraska, two women (1 who had her two young children with her) attacked another one on a bus.  They did it while the children and at least 3 passengers and the bus driver watched.  Watch this video.  LOOK at who we are.  Not just the vicious attackers but the bystanders who do NOTHING and the children, look at the poor children.  These children are learning this behavior as OK because no one says anything.  Everyone is culpable for this. 

The Jersey Shore set a record for viewership, over 9 million people watched it last week.  The Hills, MTV's child porn show 'Skins" and even the ABC Family show "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" promote sex, violence and that kind of material is trickling down to stations like Nickelodeon (watch iCarly for evidence).  Rap music (which even I must take my lumps for listening to) has become worse and worse in its advocacy of killing people, raping and mistreating women and using drugs.

Look at this Google search for "girl fights".  I don't care where you stand on women's rights, I have and America HAD more respect for our women than this:

In Wilmington, Delaware there's a suggestion that we bring in the National Guard because the police are unable to stop the murders or even solve many of the cases.  The city has a population of 80,000 and in 2010, 27 people were murdered which set a record eclipsing the mark set in 2008 (26).  Gang violence is on the rise, recidivism is up and more and more of our young people are going to prison.  I urge all of you to watch the show "Gangland" on the History Channel (now also playing on Spike).  You may not LIKE the content but you need to KNOW that it exists and that it exists here in Delaware.

Even if these girl fights and murders don't affect you, you've been in a store where someone has gotten mouthy with the clerk in front of their kids or yours.  My wife and I and our 4 children were in the new Target at Christiana Mall shopping in the baby section around a couple of young girls when one of them started using the F--- word literally in every sentence.  It was so bad that my wife and I had to move away.  I've been at Kmart when a woman has verbally assaulted another woman in front of their kids.  Almost everyone has seen this video:

I know what you're thinking.  Evan, we all KNOW these things.  We've all seen this a million times before.  Well folks, this is the problem.  We all know about it but no one will DO anything.  That doesn't mean we censor rap music, ban YouTube or that women shouldn't be allowed to advance and achieve.  It means that we, as a society must stop thinking of ourselves as nothing more than animals.  We must stop accepting these things as normal or looking the other way.  WE have a responsibility to STAND up no matter the cost.

The problem with our nation is not political.  It's something my good friend Jerry calls "moral decline".  It's the "Me Craze", "If it feels good do it" and everything is "an expression of self".  It's a loss of a moral compass.  For most people (more than 90%) that compass points to God.  For others it's just a sense of right and wrong they determine for themselves.  Whatever it is that they point to, too many people have lost their way.  We've lost our faith in God, more accurately we have misplaced it.  When times are tough, when all the chips are down we often find it but that is not enough.  We have to find the good in ourselves and live it all the time.  There will be things we disagree on and disagree on strongly but there is a path to goodness.

It's not OK to fight in front of our children, it's not acceptable to pull out our cell phones and videotape a fight to put it on YouTube.  It's not OK for our children to attack an authority figure and it's not acceptable to kill or attack a police officer.  Our culture is corrupt, our kids are getting worse.  What's more unacceptable?  The passengers on the bus.  The people that do NOTHING are as guilty as those who do not know how to act.  I often hear people my father's age talk about how "in my day this wouldn't have happened" and you know what, they're right.  The REASON why these things didn't happen then is because parents spent more time with their kids and the communities were such that if you got in trouble around the corner, your mother knew about it before you got home or in some cases, the adult who caught you went ahead and took care of you then and there.  Kids were raised to RESPECT their elders at all costs, now 12 year olds consider themselves BETTER than adults.  It's not enough to raise your own children anymore.  We must take an active role in ALL of our children's lives.  Remember,

Federal Judge among those killed in Arizona shooting

As the nation remains in prayer for the recovery of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords after the Arizona shooting on Saturday and in mourning for those killed, including the 9yr old granddaughter of former Phillies manager Dallas Green, the mainstream media has glazed over one of the dead.  Among those killed was Federal Judge John McCarthy Roll who was the Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.  Judge Roll was a supporter of the 2nd Amendment and had presided over a number of pro-gun cases in which he issued rulings that favored gun owners or struck down federal gun crackdowns as illegal.  Friday Jan. 7th, Judge Roll issued a “preliminary ruling” in a case titled “United States of America v. $333,520.00 in United States Currency et al” [Case Number: 4:2010cv00703 Filed: November 30, 2010] wherein he stated he was preparing to rule against President Obama’s power to seize American citizens money without clear and convincing evidence of a crime being committed.

The Obama administration had claimed that it was their right to seize funds suspected of being smuggled into or out of the United States by using Presidential Executive Orders, instead of existing laws.  The USA Patriot Act has opened the door for Presidents to take this stand.  The Obama administration used FDR's Gold confiscation order (E.O. 6102)  as justification for their claims.  The murder of Judge Roll does not appear to be directly related to his pending ruling on this case but it does seem odd that it came only one day after his preliminary report was issued.

The Obama administration has been moving to acquire as much federal power as it can since the President took office by using the recent economic crisis and security lapses as proof of need.  Perhaps the scariest power claimed by President Obama is contained in Executive Order 13528 he signed a year ago today (January 10, 2010) which created a Council of Governors that have been hand-picked to rule over the United States in place of its elected representatives when their next “disaster” strikes and orders them to begin “synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States; and other matters of mutual interest pertaining to National Guard, homeland defense, and civil support activities”.

Initial media reports blamed the attack on "Sarah Palin" and other TEA Party and conservative personalities due to their "dangerous rhetoric" and the mainstream media even originally labeled the shooter (Jared Loughner) as "a TEA Partier".  This has prompted calls for the Obama Administration and Congress to infringe on the 1st Amendment rights of Americans and their freedom of speech.  Also, the political establishment and the mainstream media have a vested interest in silencing the TEA Party and conservatives.  The political establishment took a thumping in 2010 as many TEA Party candidates were elected and even more establishment candidates from both major parties were ousted by their constituents.  Investigations by Arizona law enforcement have actually shown that Loughner was an Atheist who dabbled in satanic worship and who named the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf as two of his favorite books. In addition, the left-wing blog "The Daily KOS" ginned up the hate and vitriol against Congresswoman Giffords.  Add that to the calls for revolution by MSNBC anchor Dylan Ratigan, the suggestion by Clinton pollster Mark Penn that Obama "needs his own Oklahoma City" and this montage of leftist hatred and we're left to ask, where's the beef when the MSM blames the TEA Party for violence?
